Weston-super-Mare *Illuminated Carnival*

 Free Weston Illuminated Carnival - Very late evening return.

 

You will arrive in Weston late afternoon,this will give you a chance to look around the shops and get something to eat and drink before the procession starts.

 

The procession starts at approx 7.15pm and gives an evening of family entertainment and raises money for local charities. There will be around 100 -120 entries (including illuminated floats, marching bands, fancy dress walkers and entertainers) parading through the town.

 

The Weston carnival is regarded as one of the largest illuminated processions in Europe and is one of the most spectacular events in Somerset today.

The carnival carts are designed and built by dedicated carnival clubs around the West Country. These clubs have many members who raise money throughout the year, and work hard to achieve the spectacular carnival entries. The illuminated carts can be up to 100ft in length and 16ft high and some have thousands of light bulbs. This is definately a must seen event.

 

Once the last float has gone by please make your way back to the coach,please note this will be a late departure due to having to wait for the road to open up by the local police.
