Spalding Flower Festival Parade;

 

 

Spalding, a picturesque market town nestled on the banks of the River Welland in Lincolnshire, it boasts a rich cultural heritage and vibrant community, lying conveniently between Peterborough and Lincoln.

 

One of Spalding’s most cherished traditions is the Spalding Flower Parade, held annually from 1959 to 2013. This iconic event celebrated the region’s flourishing tulip industry, featuring floats, vehicles, and participants adorned with intricate floral designs. At its peak, the parade drew over 100,000 visitors, spotlighting the unique connection between the Fenlands and South Holland.

In 2023, the Flower Parade saw a revival, thanks to the efforts of former councillor Steve Timewell. This new iteration continues to honor Spalding’s floral heritage and is back in 2025.
